How to use a template

  1. Get the template for your exact version

Pick your model and year above. Refreshed versions have their own templates, so a design made for one won’t line up on another.

  2. Paint the white areas

Open the PNG in any image editor, design over the white panels and save it as a PNG. In the WrapLoom editor you can skip this setup and see the result on a 3D car as you go.

  3. Upload it to Paint Shop

Send the PNG to your car with the Tesla app or a USB drive, then pick it in Toybox → Paint Shop → Wraps.

File requirements

  • The right size

Use a PNG between 512×512 and 1024×1024 pixels, no larger than 1 MB. Downloads from WrapLoom already meet this.

  • A simple file name

Keep the name to 30 characters or fewer, using only letters, numbers, spaces, underscores and dashes.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the official Tesla templates?

Yes. The download links go to the templates Tesla publishes in its custom-wraps repository on GitHub. WrapLoom uses the same templates in its editor and is not affiliated with Tesla, Inc.

Which template do I need?

The one for your exact model and version. The 2025+ Model Y, the 2024+ Model 3 and the 2024+ Model 3 Performance, for example, each have their own template. If you’re not sure, compare your car’s front and rear with the 3D preview in the editor.

What can I use to edit a template?

Any image editor that saves PNG files works, such as Photoshop, GIMP or Procreate. Keep the file between 512×512 and 1024×1024 pixels and under 1 MB. The WrapLoom editor is free, runs in your browser and shows the wrap on a 3D car while you design.
